Please come directly here to Landhaus Osborne where we will greet you, show you your apartment and hand over the key.

The apartment will be ready from 16:00 on your arrival day. Should you require it earlier then please contact us nearer the time to enquire if this would be possible. Please be aware that check-in closes at 22:00. Unless previously agreed, check-in after this time will not be possible.

The apartment should be vacated by 10:00 on your departure day. However, we understand that some guests would like to relax and check-out later. For this reason we have made it very easy for those who wish to check-out a little later:

• All guests who check-out between 10:00 and 11:00, we will simply add an extra €20 to your final bill

• All guests who check-out between 11:00 and 12:00, we will simply add an extra €40 to your final bill

The Krippenstein (2,100m) is the mountain in our village and home to the Ice Cave, Mammoth Cave, 5-Fingers and the Dachstein Shark. For more information please go to their website.

The ferry station of Obertraun is a 2.5km walk from our house where you can take a ferry boat directly to Hallstatt at 11:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 16:40

Golf:

There is a Golf course in Bad Ischl, which is about 20 minutes by car/taxi. The Salzkammergut Golf Club was founded in 1933 and is laid in intact nature and surrounded by a picturesque landscape. Beneath a beautiful view, the golf course also offers a technically demanding and varied game. The club is not fashionable, not snobby, but very endearing.

Hallstatt:

Our house is approximately 6km from Hallstatt. Close enough to easily access, yet far from the hustle and bustle of Hallstatt so you can relax. If you do not have a car, or simply do not want to drive, then there are several options to get there:

1. You can rent a bike in our village and cycle to Hallstatt. Depending on how well you cycle it will take around 30 minutes to cycle to Hallstatt.

2. The scenic route via foot takes you through Obertraun and along the shores of lake Hallstatt and will take around 1 hour.

3. The next bus stop to our house is “Obertraun Bundessportzentrum” and is around 1.5km from our house, where you can catch a bus to Hallstatt. More details here: www.postbus.at/en/index.jsp

4. The next train station to our house is "Obertraun Koppenbrüllerhöhle" (Only May to November) which is a pretty walk which only takes 15 minutes. From here you can catch the train to Hallstatt train station from where you take a ferry over the lake to the town of Hallstatt. More frequent trains go from the "Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen" train station which is a 2km walk from our house. More details here: https://www.oebb.at/en/

5. The ferry station of Obertraun is a 2.5km walk from our house where you can take a ferry boat directly to Hallstatt at 11:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 16:40. More details here www.hallstattschifffahrt.at/en/timetable/timetable.html

6. You can take a ride on a traditional wooden boat from Obertraun Seecafe (2,5km from our house) to Hallstatt and return. The service runs hourly from 9:15 to 19:00 and costs only €10 one-way or €16 return. Further details can be found on here: www.navia.at/en/fahrplan-linienverkehr/

7. A taxi is very convenient and only costs €18 each way for up to 8 persons. We recommend Taxi Rastl, who speak English and can be reached on +43 699 1175 4852 or office@rastl.co.at

Another option is to visit Hallstatt before checking-in to Landhaus Osborne. You can leave your luggage at the following locations in Hallstatt:

Hallstatt Tourist Office

Located next to the bus terminal, the tourist office are able to store up to 20 bags at a cost of €3 per piece of luggage. The luggage needs to be dropped off and collected during their opening hours. For further information: www.hallstatt.net/service-eng/tourist-office/

"Salzwelten" Salt Mine Visitor Center

Located at the base of the Salzberg cable car, the Salzwelten Visitor Center is just a 3 min walk from the Hallstatt bus terminal. Here you can leave your luggage in lockers during the shop opening times from 9:00 until 17:00 (or 18:30 from April until the end of September). Hallstatt Parking:

The village of Hallstatt is nestled between high mountains and Lake Hallstatt. Available space is in short supply making parking in the village a problem. To solve the problem the village centre traffic free during the daytime. It is not even permitted for hotel or guest house visitors to drive through the village. The few existing parking spots are reserved for the inhabitants of the village only.

There are two ways to enter the village, both have large sign posts informing you where the 3 large parking areas are with a large electronic display lit up showing you how many spots are still available.

All parking lots are equipped with fully automatic systems at the barriers. All you need to do is press the button "Parking ticket" and remove the card. Find yourself an available spot and enjoy your time in Hallstatt.

When you return to the car park, head first of all to the car park machine, insert your ticket into the slot provided on the left side of the machine. The amount due will appear on the display. If you wish to pay in cash, use the slot on the right hand side of the machine to pay, it accepts both coins and notes. It will also give you change if you don’t have the exact amount displayed.

The machine also accepts MasterCard, Visa or Maestro. In this case, after inserting the ticket in the slot provided on the left side, you then insert your credit or debit card in the slot provided. The amount due will be charged automatically to your card.

Remove the paid parking ticket from the machine and drive your vehicle to the exit of the parking lot. At the departure gate, just insert the ticket in the slot provided for this purpose and the barrier will lift.

Located opposite the Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen train station, in Kurt`s Mammut Express you feel transported back to the past. Dachstein Krippenstein Cable Car

If you are visiting the Ice or Mammut caves or the 5-FIngers, then you can leave your luggage in one of the lockers located at the valley station of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car. They have both small (45 x 40 x 45 cm) and large (75 x 87 x 40 cm) lockers priced at €1 and €2. To help keep Austria as beautiful as it is, we try to separate and recycle our waste and ask you to kindly help.

Green bin under the carport

Please use this bin e.g. for plastic bottles, yoghurt cups, plastic foil, plastic bags, plastic lids, soup and coffee bags, polystyrene, foam… and for articles, which are signed with a green recycle dot, but no plastic hoses or kid toys.

Please use this bin e.g. for cooked meal leftovers and all stuff which cannot be recycled, but not for chemicals or other ‘problematic’ substances.

Krippenstein (2 mins by car) - The Krippenstein Freeride Arena (2100 metres) is a magnet for those who enjoy winter sports in unspoilt natural surroundings and is accessible via the recently modernised Dachsteinbahn cable car system. There are 11 km of prepared ski runs from the summit down to the valley; otherwise you can try out some off-piste skiing. Our younger guests will have hours of fun at the recently established "Krippi-Park".

The next train station to our house is "Obertraun Koppenbrüllerhöhle" (Only April to November -Map) which is a pretty 1km walk which only takes 15 minutes.

More frequent trains go from the "Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen" train station which is a 2km walk from our house.

If you prefer not to walk, then we suggest that you arrange for a taxi to meet you at "Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen" station. The price for this is only €10 for up to 8 persons. We recommend Taxi Rastl, who speak English and can be reached on +43 699 1175 4852 or office@rastl.co.at. As there will be no taxis waiting at the station, we would advise you to call Taxi Rastl the morning of your arrival and arrange for them to meet you at the station.

Your apartment is equipped with an LED TV, DVD Player and HD Digital Satellite receiver. Should you wish to borrow a DVD free of charge, please let us know as we have a small selection to choose from - Just chose a film from the list we have provided within this information pack.

WiFi:

We have wireless internet access which is free for our guests to use.

Wine Self Service:

On our first floor, you will find a dual-zone wine cooler which enables you to enjoy your drinks at the optimal temperature. It is always well stocked with reasonably priced quality red wines (18°c), white wines and Sekts (9°c) as well as beer and other soft drinks. Please help yourself and put the money into the money box.
