Is it enough to take to the skies paragliding?
No, for first of all you have to undertake the challenge of reaching the
mountain summit - the start of the event!
Is it enough to negotiate steep mountain paths to climb up to the
summit?
No! First of all there is a vertical 1000m high rock face to conquer
before you attempt the rest of the rock climb!
Is it enough to cycle down the steepest ski slopes at top speed? No!
There are parts where your personal best will not be enough!
Is it not enough to brave the elements to swim? No! You have to come a
long way to reach the water, and only the brave can contemplate the
breath-taking dive into the depths!
To achieve all this, you will need a team of 4 sportsmen, and each must
be prepared to give his best ever performance to stand a chance of
surviving the challenge!

Ascent from the Pötschen pass to the Goiserer Sarstein pasture, over the Sarstein summit (1,975m) to the Obertrauner Sarstein hut. Mass will be held at 11:00 followed by descent to Obertraun. Approximately 9 km. Ascent app. 900, descent app. 1,500 vertical metres.
Cost: € 11 including taxi to the Pötschen.

The Obertraun "Almfest" takes place on the "Koppenwinklalm" - an idyllic location of outstanding natural beauty. skip OBERTRAUN am Hallstättersee OBERTRAUNER ALMFEST Image This traditional event takes place on the first Sunday in September in an idyllic setting close to the Koppenwinkllacke - small lake - in Obertraun. Traditional music is provided by groups/brass bands from Obertraun. Barrels of beer, traditional grilled sausages and other freshly made regional culinary specialities such as "Bauernkrapfen" (similar to a doughnut) and "Rauggerl" will be available. The walk from the car park/railway station takes about 20 minutes.

Begin 10:30 Krippenstein – Heilbronner Kapelle
The service takes place by the Heilbronner Chapel on the Krippenstein, which is approximately a 20 minute walk from the cable car station. Organised by the Choral Society and Archbishop Aichern.
* = Easy walk. Mostly down in the valley without any lengthy uphill sections or uneven terrain.
** = The "Pleasure Tour": easy to medium difficulty tours. No dangerous sections.
*** = Longer, strenuous mountain tours. Suitable for experienced mountain/rock climbers. Adequate equipment essential and participants must be in good health and have a high level of fitness!
